Katzschmann et Siegwart re?oivent l'Amazon Research Award
Les professeurs Robert Katzschmann et Roland Siegwart re?oivent un Amazon Research Award pour les thèmes de recherche "Design and Control Optimization of Soft Gripper Mechanisms for Manipulation" et "Autonomous Navigation of Aerial Robotic Manipulators in Unstructured Indoor and Outdoor Environments".
Le prix Amazon pour la recherche met à disposition des fonds sans restriction pour soutenir le travail d'un ou deux doctorants:- ou post-doctorants:- pendant un an sous la supervision d'un membre de la faculté. En outre, les lauréats auront accès à plus de 300 ensembles de données publiques Amazon et pourront utiliser les services et outils AI/ML d'AWS.
Au sein de l'Autonomous Systems Laboratory du professeur Roland Siegwart, Rik B?hnemann et Michael Pantic vont étudier comment des robots volants peuvent naviguer dans un espace restreint pour effectuer des t?ches de maintenance. Ils ont re?u un financement de 80 000 USD en espèces et 20 000 USD supplémentaires sous forme de crédits AWS. Le Soft Robotics Lab du professeur Robert Katzschmann soutient le travail de Mike Yan Michelis et Yasunori Toshimitsu avec les 99 026 USD re?us. Les deux doctorants étudient comment améliorer par le calcul les préhenseurs robotiques souples pour les t?ches de manipulation robotique en appliquant des méthodes d'optimisation basées sur le gradient à la conception et à la commande des mécanismes de préhension souples.
Les deux laboratoires font partie du Département de génie mécanique et des procédés de l'ETH Zurich. Les deux prix tombent dans la période de l'appel d'offres d'automne 2021.
