Visit the new GLC building
With the new building in the Gloriarank (GLC), ETH Zurich has created a modern research and laboratory building at the interface between health sciences and technology in the Zurich Centre university area. Now that the building has been occupied by the Departments of Health Sciences and Technology (HEST) and Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITET) in April 2023, we would like to open the doors and give you an insight into the research in the GLC and the architecture of the building.

As the number of participants is limited, you can pick up a free ticket at the InfoDesk to take part in a guided tour. You can visit one tour per time slot. The InfoDesk will be open on 6 June from 4 p.m. in the foyer of the GLC building.
On this tour, we present a globally unique robot that precisely analyses the movement of the knee joint. In the interactive robotics laboratory, researchers show you how rocking beds can improve the quality of sleep, and how an exoskeleton supports the quality of life for people with limited mobility.
On this tour, you will learn how the brain controls movements, how medication is administered using microrobots and what these microrobots are made of. Using the "ReHandyBot" therapy device and the "tenoexo" wearable exoskeleton, we show you how hand function is supported for people with limited mobility.

You can also observe a person during intense physical exertion and see, among other things, how much blood is pumped through the body per heartbeat. Researchers also show you how they stimulate involuntary (non-volitional) breathing by stimulating nerve pathways.
