ETH Zurich Latsis Prize
The ETH Zurich Latsis Prize is awarded annually to young scientists from all fields. It focuses on excellent and independent research conducted at ETH Zurich. The prize was established in 1985 based on an endowment of the external page Fondation Latsis Internationale.
Deadline & submission
Submission deadline each year: 1 March, 17:00 Swiss local time
If a submission deadline falls on a weekend, it will be postponed to the following Monday, 17:00 Swiss local time.
ETH Zurich grant application system: eResearch
The call is usually open in the system about one month before the deadline.
Outside office hours, no support can be provided for problems with electronic submission.
Candidates must be proposed by a professor of ETH Zurich. Self-nominations are not possible.
The proposal must be written in English and contain the following documents:
- cover letter giving a detailed justification and signed by nominating person and head of department
- CV of the nominee, including birth date
- list of nominee's scientific publications
- three most important publications
- List of potential reviewers (5 external, 1 from another department at ETH) (contact information to be entered direclty in eResearch)
Applications must be submitted electronically in pdf format using the ETH Zurich grant application system (eResearch). The ETH Zurich Research Commission is responsible for the evaluation of applications.

Within two months after the deadline, nominators and nominees are informed whether they will be invited to an interview, which usually takes place in June. Final funding decisions are announced about four months after the submission deadline.
