Honorary doctorate for Kay Axhausen
Kay Axhausen, Professor of Transport Planning at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering, received an honorary doctorate from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He was honored during the university’s annual Commemoration Day.
Since 1999 Kay Axhausen has been Professor of Transport Planning at ETH Zürich. His research focuses on the measurement and modeling of traffic behavior, traffic diaries, staged response approaches, decision models and microsimulation. Currently, he is dedicated to the MOBIS-COVID-19 research project, which shows how the pandemic affects mobility and everyday life in Switzerland and also contributes to research on the transmission pathways of the virus. Furthermore, Axhausen is co-editor of the journal “Transportation”. He has now been awarded an honorary doctorate by DTU in Lyngby, near Copenhagen, at the university’s annual Commemoration Day on April 26, 2021.
