Markus Gross appointed member of the National Academy of Science and Engineering
Professor Markus Gross (D-INFK), head of the Computer Graphics Laboratory at ETH Zurich and Vice President of Research for The Walt Disney Studios, has been appointed a member of acatech.
The German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech) has elected Markus Gross as a member. The Academy's members are outstanding scientists from the engineering and natural sciences, medicine, and the humanities and social sciences. Markus Gross heads the Computer Graphics Laboratory at the Department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich and is Director of DisneyResearch|Studios and Vice President of Research for The Walt Disney Studios.
acatech is the national academy and voice of the technological sciences. It advises politics and society on issues of technology science and technology policy for the future. acatech's mission is to provide independent, evidence-based advice that is in the public interest. Markus Gross is the third professor from ETH Zurich to be elected as an acatech member, following Professors Hannes Flühler (D-USYS) and Mirko Meboldt (D-MAVT).
