Honorary Degree from University of Illinois for Rahul Pandharipande
Rahul Pandharipande, professor at the Department of Mathematics, has been presented with an honorary doctorate from the University of Illinois.

Rahul Pandharipande received the honorary degree of Doctor of Science for being "the driving force in creating the field of modern enumerative geometry for more than 25 years and becoming the world’s foremost expert in this and related areas". His work has had "tremendous impact on theoretical physics through the connection between modern enumerative geometry and string theory". The award was presented at the university-wide commencement ceremony in May 2022.
