emba X Receives Award for Innovation in Higher Education
The joint Executive MBA offered by ETH Zurich and the University of St.Gallen, emba X, has received its first award for Innovation in Higher Education at MERIT Summit & Awards in Paris.
“Starting with an idea is something, but really connecting the strengths of two universities […] in a relatively short period with this result and realising this new approach (both in learning goals and in learning approaches) – that is big.”MERIT Awards Jury über emba X
At the last MERIT Summit in Paris from 6 to 7 November 2023, Dr Ana Procópio Sch?n, Senior Learning & Development Manager at ETH Zurich, presented the emba X programme, which was shortlisted for the category “Innovation in Higher Education”. During her presentation, she shared insights on the creation, development and implementation of the programme. As a result, the EMBA ETH HSG was honoured with the MERIT Award in “Innovation in Higher Education”. According to the jury, emba X is “living up to their motto of (re)learning, changing altitudes, and treating sustainability as the business ‘status quo’.” They also emphasised that emba X was built to constantly reinvent itself, in co-creation with the participants.
The award is a further confirmation of the successful cooperation between ETH Zurich and the University of St.Gallen and an official recognition of the relevance and innovativeness of the programme as well as the quality of education the students receive.
MERIT brings together business schools and human resources executives from a variety of sectors to enable a direct exchange between industry and the educational sector. Their annual summit allows delegates from both sides to share ideas, challenges and success stories and shape the future of corporate learning and people development.
Every year, MERIT honours impactful transformational initiatives that empower people and organisations and elevate the state of corporate learning. A jury of community members, executive education leaders and industry experts selects the most outstanding contributions in six different categories. All shortlisted applicants then present their initiatives at the MERIT Summit and the winners are awarded on site.
