Changes from 2024

For the salary review and individual salary increments at ETH Zurich, the previous letter rating will be replaced with the assumption that all employees are performing at a good to very good level.

The individual performance and behaviour of employees can continue to be considered when determining individual salary increments along with other factors. To this end, the salary review tool now offers the option for supervisors to add comments on individuals via managers in order to make them accessible to the salary review officers and HR partners. The supervisor's assessment of the individual employee's performance and behaviour takes place in particular in the annual appraisal interview.

Due to the change in procedure and in order to have more time for the review and potential adjustment of salary proposals, the timetable for the 2024 salary round has been adjusted.

The annual salary review is carried out for employees with roles in administration, IT and technology, employees in management and staff as well as those with scientific roles such as senior scientists, scientific staff with and without management duties, senior assistants or project staff with relevant contracts. These employees are employed under the ETH Domain's salary system.

Excluded from the salary review are employees who started their position at ETH Zurich after 2 July 2024 or who leave ETH before 31 December 2024.

Not included as well are employees who are employed on fixed, lump sum or hourly salaries, such as doctoral students, postdocs or scientific assistants.
