DIY Production, Recording Room
In addition to the supervised (and fee-based) production in the video studio, we also provide the infrastructure and equipment for you to produce your own videos (for free).
Recording room
With . In this room, you can also produce videos outside of the normal office hours, and thus benefit from the peace and quiet and acoustic qualities of the room.
Production
There's equipment to record both content and personal videos, the former in two settings:
- KIT I: document camera with recording device and headset, cf. Downloaddocumentation (PDF, 199 KB) and video (German only):
- KIT II: tablet with recording software and headset; cf. Downloaddocumentation (PDF, 1.5 MB).
- Camera with lights and a neutral background; cf. Downloaddocumentation (PDF, 1.3 MB) and the video (German only):
A short introduction is strongly recommended before using the equipment. Please make an appointment with Martin Wieser for this purpose; he will hand over keys to the room as well.
Both KIT can also be used in the office or at home, if the audio situation is good enough.
Post-production
Post-production is generally handled by you; you will find appropriate software for this (Adobe Video and Audio Tools CC, Premiere Pro) in the IT Shop of IT Services. During an initial meeting with us, we should discuss details of
- the approximate outlay, which you expect for post-production activities, and any possibilities for reducing this ("log book"),
- where the produced materials will be stored securely,
- any additional requirements for the video recordings (text / images / slides),
- your final design (corporate design) and the subsequent
- publication and legal conditions.
We would be happy to provide you with advice on possible alternatives, including the post-production activities subject to a charge.
Video examples: Producing educational videos with coloured pencils and watercolour
Order: Provide infrastructure and equipment for a DIY-recording of an animated educational video in agronomics.
Content: The prospective scientist artistically draws biological and historical processes with pencils and watercolour.
Technology: Using KIT I (document camera / visualizer) the video was produced in the recording room HG D 23.1 and animated in post-production. Audio was dubbed after the fact.
