The Staff Commission (PeKo) of ETH Zurich has chosen its Executive Board for the term running from 2015 to 2018. It has also welcomed two new members and launched a new website.

As of this week, the ETH Link has been showing off its new design to the public. The shuttle bus is now emblazoned with a blue and white pattern.

Doctoral students and lecturers at ETH Zurich can learn German for the classroom and everyday life in just one year. ¡°Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF) Turbo¡± is the name of the course, and it is open for registration from now on.

At its meeting the ETH Board discussed the grants initiative, the research infrastructure projects of national significance and further refined its succession planning for the EPFL presidency.

Walter Kaufmann, Full Professor of Structural Engineering since 2014, talks about why he came back to ETH Zurich and the fascination that bridges still hold for him. He will be giving his inaugural lecture at 5.15 p.m. on 21 May in the Audimax hall.

ETH Zurich offers a wide range of support services for students and researchers during their studies and work at the university. A new website section provides an overview of the various support options and funding instruments.

Staff and students at ETH Zurich will receive their new ETH card this summer, redesigned to match the ETH corporate design. The new card will function in exactly the same way as the old one. Staff who are currently using a photo that is no longer up to date will be invited to submit a new photo.

The database Detail Inspiration provides information on more than 3,000 example construction projects from the last 50 years, which were published as articles in the journal "Detail".

The renovation of the kihz Foundation cr¨¨che at the H?nggerberg campus created space for an extra infant group in early May. A new activity room has also been added.
