Daily rapid antigen test service
Members of ETH Zurich can now take a free rapid antigen test from Monday to Friday on both Zurich campuses. This service supplements the existing CoVMass test services, which should still be prioritised for use going forwards.
Although ETH’s buildings have emptied again since the introduction of the requirement to work from home, the internal CoVMass testing programme is still seeing a very high level of use. Especially those students who are currently taking end-of-semester exams are dependent on a test certificate due to the 3G obligation recently decided by the Federal Council, which also applies to exams.
It may be the case that no more CoVMass test appointments are available on a particular day or a test result is needed at very short notice. As the public test stations in the city are often also fully booked, ETH Zurich is expanding its rapid antigen test service. The two stations for rapid antigen tests on the Zentrum and H?nggerberg campuses are now open from Monday to Friday. ETH members do not incur any costs for testing; these are borne by the federal government.
This service is a supplement to the existing CoVMass test stations. The CoVMass testing programme should continue to be used for repeat tests, as PCR tests provide more reliable results than rapid antigen tests. Both services are only aimed at people who have no symptoms of Covid-19. As before, anyone with symptoms should book a PCR test at an official test centre and should not come to ETH Zurich.
