As of January 1, 2025, members of ETH Zurich can publish in all journals, magazines and conference proceedings of the external page Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) free of charge and without restriction, with the external page exception of some conference proceedings that are co-published with IEEE or Sage. To make use of this publishing opportunity, as corresponding author you must submit with your ETH affiliation (including ETH email-address) and your article must be accepted for publication after January 1st 2025.
ACM Open is a transformative open access model that aims to convert the entire ACM portfolio (with the exception of ACM Books) to 100% open access by 2026. The newly concluded agreement between ACM and ETH Zurich therefore covers not only the continuation of read access to the ACM Digital Library but also the publication of research articles in both the publisher's hybrid and pure (“gold”) open access publications.
Additionally, the ETH Library will cover article fees for publications in five gold journals of the external page American Physical Society (APS) as of December 1, 2024, provided the corresponding author has an ETH affiliation. Articles funded by the SNSF must be processed directly through the external page SNSF (ChronosHub).
