Stem cell transplants can be a powerful tool to cure a number of life-threatening diseases. Before patients can receive such a transplant, they have to undergo intensive chemotherapy to remove all malignant cells of their own blood system and make room for the donor stem cells.
Unfortunately, many patients are not eligible to go through this so called “conditioning” phase due to the severe side effects of chemotherapy. At Phire Therapeutics we are developing novel, innovative medicines that aim to specifically eliminate these cells and replace chemotherapy - giving patients the chance for a stem cell transplant and a potential cure.
