Amgen Scholars Program
ETH Zurich offers 10 to 12 scholarships for a summer research stay within the Amgen Scholars Program. The programme applies to students studying for a Bachelor’s degree at a European university.
The programme covers eight to nine weeks of intensive research in a state-of-the art laboratory in Zurich. Working as part of a research team, you will have the opportunity to interact with leading scientists and doctoral/phd students.
A closing highlight of the programme is the joint symposium for all European Amgen Scholars in Cambridge, UK.
In addition to conducting hands-on research, you will attend workshops and events offering both insights into state-of-the art research and the opportunity to learn cross-cutting skills such as communication, scientific writing and intercultural skills.
List of research groups
First established in 2006, the Amgen Scholars Program has provided summer research opportunities to over 5,300 undergraduate students from more than 900 colleges and universities. Thousands of program alumni have completed their undergraduate studies and are currently pursuing or completed an advanced graduate degree in a scientific field. Program alumni are also employed in scientific fields across nearly 40 countries.
Close collaboration with LabXchange has enabled the development of a new collection of free, virtual resources designed to complement and build upon the Amgen Scholar program’s in-person experience. Housing these resources on LabXchange.org extends the Amgen Foundation’s ability to support any learner interested in scientific research from anywhere around the world.
