The best apprentice of Ticino in the category systems administrator

David Isztl, apprentice of ETH Zurich at CSCS from 2013 – 2017, has been awarded the prize for best apprentice of Ticino 2017 in the category systems administrator by the professional association ICT Formazione professionale Svizzera italiana.

David Isztl, apprentice at the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) from 2013 – 2017, has been awarded the prize for best apprentice of Ticino 2017 in the category systems administrator by the professional association ICT Formazione professionale Svizzera italiana.

David Isztl’s final paper on the topic of the evolution of supercomputers was very well received by the experts and showcased the insight into the world of HPC that David has gained during his time at CSCS. For his final exam, David was asked to implement a web application firewall, topic which was deemed to be particularly interesting and challenging by the examiners.

David is currently completing his vocational Matura with the aim to continue on into tertiary education next year.
