Nako Nakatsuka named to MIT Technology Review's Innovators Under 35 list
Nako Nakatsuka, a Principal Investigator at the Laboratory of Biosensors and Bioelectronics (D-ITET), was named to MIT Technology Review's Innovators Under 35 list. Each year since 1999, exceptionally talented young innovators whose work has the greatest potential to transform the world have been selected to the prestigious list.
Working at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, and neuroscience, Nako recently invented a novel biosensor that can monitor neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine released from human neurons at concentrations that were previously impossible to measure at nanoscale resolutions. Her aim is to discover the fundamental functions of the human brain to advance the limited understanding of how diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Major Depression develop.
