The Executive Board has approved the function description of the departmental delegates for good scientific practice and has also decided to develop online communication channels step by step, to award a prize for young innovators to mark the 200th birthday of Alfred Escher in 2019, and to put childcare on a new footing.

At the beginning of the new semester, following a five-month construction period, the restaurant in the CAB building has reopened its doors under the name of “food&lab”. The restaurant will now not only serve food, but will also be available as a place of work and an events venue.
Honorary lecture by Fields Medal winner Alessio Figalli

At the start of August, Alessio Figalli was awarded the Fields Medal. This distinction is often referred to as the Nobel Prize for mathematicians and is a cause for major celebration. ETH Zurich is to mark this special occasion with a honorary lecture on 22 October 2018. The lecture will also be broadcast via live streaming.
Memorialising Willy Krek

After a long illness, Willy Krek passed away on 29 August at the age of 56. The biology professor was a key figure in the development of molecular health sciences and personalised medicine at ETH Zurich. The university has lost a passionate researcher and supporter.
