Robotics
With its “Digital Platform," ETH Zurich launches an interactive stage on which visitors can playfully reflect on digital transformation and its societal effects.
The World of Robotics at ETH Zurich
In the second rendition of the “Digital Platform,” visitors experience how robotics support society. Rovers, robots with wheels, guide visitors through various thematic applications in robotics. Interactive infographics convey complex innovation and research offering insight into the world of robotics at ETH Zurich.
Robots are highly specialized machines that solve a variety of problems. Researchers at ETH Zurich conduct fundamental robotics research and often translate innovative research into marketable products via spin-off companies. Multiple disciplines collaborate - from Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science to Medicine or Agricultural Sciences.
The robotics world at ETH Zurich includes four main focal areas: plants and animals, construction and surveying, health and mobility, as well as search and rescue. Each are represented by three research projects: The "Radia" robot, specially developed for the "Digital Platform," accompanies visitors on their expedition between each project and offers additional content. Alternatively, these can be experienced via the Clipthis app in Augmented Reality.
